This Art Deco rug was handwoven in Tientsin, China during the second quarter of the 20th century. 

This sumptuous Deco rug features a detailed naturalistic design with subtle references to auspicious symbols like lotus flowers and bats. The intricate design is rendered in an unusual combination of cream, golds, purples, and greens including both pistachio and jade on a burgundy field.

In excellent condition, with no signs of wear. The back of the rug has a stamp that says "Nichols Made in China" Pile is medium height, soft and plush, with a dense and heavy handle.
